Baseball Roundtable’s 2016 World Series Recap
Baseball Roundtable’s Game 7 Summary: It’s over, the Chicago Cubs 108-year World Championship drought has come to an end – in a Game Seven that had more twists and turns than a carnival ride. The Cubs topped the Cleveland Indians (whose own World Series Championship drought now stretches to 69 seasons) 8-7 in ten innings. Was it a “classic” Game Seven? No, I’ll leave that designation for games like Jack Morris’ ten-inning complete game shutout that brought the 1991 World … Continue reading →

Bleacher Bums XXXV – August 3-6
Well, it didn’t take long for the World Champs to squeeze out the little guy. The Tour Operator was ‘shocked’ to find out that there will be no group tix sold for the original weekend picked for the 35th Anniversary Tour. Yeah, yeah, yeah – the fact we’ve been watching baseball & a lot of bad baseball for 35 years at Wrigley & that we were traveling 350 miles didn’t matter.
Mark the calendar for 8/3 – 8/6. We hit Chicago, Beloit, and Appleton.

Calvin: Baseball’s Last Dinosaur – A Review
Check out Baseball Roundtable’s review of the newly revised book “Calvin: Baseball’s Last Dinosaur.” Calvin – Baseball’s Last Dinosaur is ostensibly about Calvin Griffith and his 30-year tenure at the helm of the Washington Senators/Minnesota Twins. But it really is about much more. It is about the Griffith family’s passion for the national pastime; it is about family loyalties and family turmoil; it’s a true rags-to-riches story; and it is a tale about the changes wrought by the ending of … Continue reading →
